The short answer
A bedroom treadmill lives or dies on two measurements: the space it needs while you use it, and the space it needs while stored. The slimmest options here slide under the bed: the DeerRun Q2 Urban stands 4.5 inches tall as a flat unit, the WalkingPad P1 folds to 5 inches high, and the UREVO Strol 2S Pro folds flat to 6.69 inches. The WalkingPad X21 double-folds to 8.8 inches thick for vertical storage against a wall. Measure your bed's underside clearance and compare it against the folded height before shortlisting anything; bed heights vary too much for any generic number to be useful.
Bedrooms add a noise constraint on top of the space constraint: thin walls and often a wood floor above someone else's ceiling. Only three compact models publish any noise figure: the UREVO CyberPad for Office at about 35 dB under specified test conditions, the MERACH T12 Pro at under 42 dB, and the DeerRun A1 Pro Move+ at 45 dB or less on DeerRun's UK site. The rest publish no number, so choose them on structural quietness and verify with the setup guidance below.

In-use vs stored: the two footprints
| Model | In-use size | Stored size | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| DeerRun Q2 Urban | 45" x 20" x 4.5" | Same (flat unit, slides under furniture) | 41 lb |
| WalkingPad P1 | 47" belt x 16.5" on folding frame | 32.5" x 21.5" x 5" | 62 lb |
| UREVO CyberPad for Office | 42.9" x 22.8" x 6.3" | Same (slim flat unit) | 63.1 lb |
| UREVO CyberPad for Home | 47.6" x 23.6" x 8.7" | Same (slim flat unit) | 70.6 lb |
| WalkingPad X21 | 47.6" x 18.1" belt on folding frame | 39.6" x 27.9" x 8.8", stores vertically | 81 lb |
| UREVO Strol 2S Pro | 50.79" x 25.39" x 40.94" | 54.72" x 25.39" x 6.69" (folds flat) | 74.51 lb |
| DeerRun A1 Pro Move+ | 53.35" x 24.06" x 44.57" | Folding; dimensions listed on the UK site | 79.59 lb |
| MERACH T12 Pro | 17.7" x 47.3" belt on folding frame | 25.6" x 27.6" x 55" (about 5 sq ft) | 99.2 lb |
Two categories emerge. Flat units (Q2, both CyberPads) never fold; they are thin enough to live under the bed or desk permanently. Folding units (P1, X21, Strol 2S Pro, A1 Pro, T12 Pro) collapse for vertical or closet storage. Pick the category that matches your storage spot, then the model that matches your training.
Measure your bed clearance
This is the step people skip. Bed underside heights vary enormously by frame, so no article can give you a useful generic number. Measure from your floor to the lowest point under your bed frame, then compare:
- 4.5 inches or more: DeerRun Q2 Urban fits.
- 5 inches or more: WalkingPad P1 fits folded.
- 6.3 inches or more: UREVO CyberPad for Office fits.
- 6.69 inches or more: UREVO Strol 2S Pro fits folded flat.
- 8.8 inches or more: WalkingPad X21 fits folded.
If nothing fits underneath, vertical storage against a wall needs about 28 inches of width for the X21 or a closet corner for the T12 Pro's 25.6" x 27.6" standing footprint.
Noise data with sources attached
- UREVO CyberPad for Office: about 35 dB per the official product page, with the FAQ limiting the figure to specified test conditions and noting variation with speed, shoes, and flooring.
- MERACH T12 Pro: under 42 dB per the official product page.
- DeerRun A1 Pro Move+: 45 dB or less on DeerRun's UK official site; the US product page carries no decibel figure.
- WalkingPad X21: under 65 dB per the official product page.
- WalkingPad P1, CyberPad for Home, Q2, Strol 2S Pro: no official noise figure. The P1 earned a 4-out-of-5 subjective noise score from BarBend.
These are manufacturer claims under manufacturer conditions, not comparable measurements. The running vs walking noise explainer details why. For the bedroom specifically, remember that no tested source measures vibration transmitted through a bedroom wood floor to the unit below, so do not translate any of these figures into promises about what the downstairs neighbor hears.
How small is too small for the belt?
Belt length determines what you can do on the machine. The walking-pad belts here run 39.4 to 47.6 inches long, which suits walking at the 0.3 to 4 mph speeds these models offer. The X21 (to 7.5 mph) and A1 Pro Move+ (to 10 mph) reach jogging and light running on 47.6-inch and unstated-length belts respectively. The T12 Pro's 17.7" x 47.3" belt at up to 7.5 mph is the compact jogger of the group. This site makes no ergonomic claims about stride length; the practical guidance is to match the belt to the speeds on the official spec sheet and, if you run regularly, favor the longer options.
Weight and the upstairs bedroom
Bedrooms are often upstairs, which makes weight a second selection criterion. The compact class runs 41 lb (Q2) to 99.2 lb (T12 Pro), against 187 lb and up for full-size folding treadmills. Lighter machines are easier to place on a dense mat, easier to move for cleaning, and put less load on the floor structure. Weight is not a noise rating, but in an upstairs bedroom the handling and placement advantages of the 41 to 99 lb class are real. The full protocol is in the upstairs apartment checklist.
Thin walls: set up for them
Bedroom walls are thin and bedrooms are quiet spaces, so the setup matters as much as the model:
- Place the machine away from walls shared with neighbors or sleeping family members.
- Use a dense rubber mat (1/4 to 1/2 inch) even under a walking pad; the treadmill mat guide covers selection.
- Keep to daytime hours. Bedroom-adjacent training at night is the fastest route to a complaint.
- Maintain the belt on the manufacturer's schedule; a dry belt gets louder, and the belt lubrication guide has the brand-by-brand reference.
Do not expect any setup to be inaudible through a thin wall. The goal is a level the building tolerates, not silence.
Budget bands
Using official-site listed prices checked 2026-10-02: $119 (DeerRun Q2), $269 (DeerRun A1 Pro Move+), $319.99 (UREVO Strol 2S Pro, pre-order with estimated delivery 2026-10-15), $349 (WalkingPad P1), $399.99 (UREVO CyberPad for Home), $479.99 (UREVO CyberPad for Office), $529.99 (MERACH T12 Pro), $799 (WalkingPad X21). The price steps track belt length, speed ceiling, incline, and capacity. The detailed budget breakdown is in quiet treadmills under $500. Prices are listed prices on the check date; promotions move them.
If the machine will live under your bed, check two things most buyers miss: that the bed clearance exceeds the folded height with room to slide, and that you can reach the power switch and controls without crawling fully under the frame.
